So many people commented on my how to get rid of mould post, that I thought I would do another housewifey post
Well, Beth and Ben found the wheel barrow that was full of mud as we dug some flower beds out. And had excess soil. Then Beth ran inside and then I realised she had a jug of water poured into the mud and they were now both ABSOLUTELY COVERED in mud…… My choice was stop them straight away, or rescue their clothes and hope that we would get them upstairs later without them touching anything in the house. I did the latter! Of course!
But their clothes were so filthy I was scared they would never come clean. And one dress was her pretty blue and white striped tunic with a bow (you need a picture, it’s really cute, and NOT a playing out dress!) Anyways. I got the oxyclean. You can buy it in a tub. I think this is the aldi brand one, but it just has to say ‘oxyclean’ on it.
I didn’t read the instructions this time as I thought these clothes are ruined
Poured about 2 big scoops into a bowl and filled it half full with warm water. Dumped the clothes in (I had rinsed them under the tap first) and then wait. I ended up leaving them for about 30 hours!
Then I wrung them out and washed them in a 40 degree wash with everything else.
And what do you know. The mud stains came out
Worked for grass stains on leggins/jeans too!
Hope that helps you….! I told you it was housewifey
Now to find something that removes spaghetti Bolognese red sauce from Ben’s t-shirts!! Comment if you know… might resort to bleach
